Transfer Process

The student interested in transferring to the Illinois State University must meet the following requirements:
- Take a total of 60 approved credits.
- Meet the minimum admission requirements of the bachelor’s degree of transfer interest to Illinois State University.

Complete the application of Illinois State University
- Application deadline: Spring (October 1), Fall (May 1).

Submit financial certification.
- The interested student must request a balance letter from a bank certifying that they have a minimum of $40,000.*
- If your funding is through a government institution, you must submit where they indicate the approved amount.

Once the above requirements are met, the Illinois State University admissions department and International Center process the student's admission. The review of requirements by Illinois State University begins once the application deadline for each semester ends.

After Illinois State University reviews and approves the applicant's academic and financial documents, the student will receive the I-20 form from the U.S. government. This form is the document that certifies that you are eligible to apply for the F-1 student visa.

The student must apply for the F-1 student visa, entering the page of the consulted of the United States, completing the form DS-160
